Patients experiencing blood glucose disorders (prediabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes) can immediately undergo scarification cupping at Bengkel Manusia Indonesia Batam.

This was conveyed by Grandmaster Oxidant Releasing Therapy from Bengkel Manusia Indonesia Yayasan An Nubuwwah Batam, Candra P. Pusponegoro.

According to him, since practicing in Batam starting in 2005, many patients with blood sugar disorders have returned to normal after undergoing cupping at his practice.

“From our experience, with scarification cupping therapy (not puncture) performed 9 times, blood sugar levels can return to normal,” said Candra in a release, Monday (2/3/2026).

He gave examples of several patients with indications of type 1 and type 2 blood sugar conditions whose blood sugar levels gradually returned to normal.

Previously, one patient had a blood sugar test result of 300 mg/dL. After undergoing therapy 9 times, the blood sugar level dropped to 100 mg/dL or close to normal.

“Alhamdulillah, until now the blood level remains normal without consuming medication or herbal blood sugar-lowering remedies,” he said.

Furthermore, he continued, besides the significant decrease in blood sugar levels, cholesterol, uric acid, and blood pressure also dropped to normal levels.

How many times cupping should be performed, he added, depends on each patient. The cupping points also differ. According to his experience, the handling of diabetes patients varies.

“Each diabetes treatment is different. Diabetes is not only a genetic factor but also due to dietary patterns,” said the man who has been practicing for 27 years.

One natural treatment to lower blood sugar levels using cupping has been practiced in Indonesia for a long time. In fact, this classical treatment has become a trend favored by many people.

This is in line with a literature study conducted by Maratus Sholiha from the Nursing Science Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas dr. Soebandi Jember, East Java.

She revealed that cupping therapy is effective in helping to lower blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Maratus Sholiha’s research was conducted as a final thesis assignment by reviewing several scientific journals related to cupping therapy and blood glucose levels.

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease often referred to as a silent killer because it is frequently unnoticed until serious complications arise.

This disease occurs due to impaired insulin production or function, causing increased blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia).

Global data show that the number of diabetes patients continues to increase, including in Indonesia, which ranks fourth in the world for the highest number of cases.

Various serious complications can occur due to diabetes, such as coronary heart disease, kidney failure, blindness, and even amputation.

Therefore, controlling blood sugar levels is the main step in preventing complications.

In addition to pharmacological therapy, non-pharmacological therapy such as cupping is increasingly in demand because it is considered to have fewer side effects and to be more economical.

In this study, the author used a literature review method by analyzing five scientific articles published between 2016 and 2022.

The literature search was conducted through Google Scholar using keywords related to cupping and blood sugar levels in diabetes patients.

The review results showed that blood sugar levels before cupping therapy ranged from 128.03 mg/dl to 183.74 mg/dl.

After cupping therapy was performed, blood sugar levels decreased, ranging from 116.37 mg/dl to 176.54 mg/dl.

Overall, all reviewed articles showed a decrease in blood glucose levels after the therapy was carried out.

Theoretically, cupping therapy works by stimulating blood circulation and helping supply nutrients to pancreatic beta cells that play a role in insulin production.

The suction and bloodletting process in cupping therapy is also believed to help remove metabolic waste substances and increase insulin receptor sensitivity, so that blood sugar levels can be better controlled.

This study concluded that cupping therapy is proven effective as a complementary therapy in helping to lower blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus.

However, the researcher suggests that cupping should be performed with proper techniques and correct cupping points and remain under the supervision of competent personnel.
